Class Descriptions
|
|
Restorative Yoga:
Restorative Yoga is the practice of deeply nourishing oneself. A relaxing class which uses props to support and gently open the body, eliciting deep states of release. Participants are encouraged to wear socks for warmth. Appropriate for all levels of students.
Yoga for Stress Relief:
Shed tension and release stress through proven relaxation practices, including breathing exercises, guided relaxation, restorative poses. Students will, over time, increase their stress hardiness. Appropriate for all levels of students. Dress warmly.
Back Care:
Students interested in increasing the health of their back. Focus is on gently stretching the back, increasing core strength, and improving posture. |
Gentle Yoga:
A slower-paced class with gentler poses to build strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, confidence. It is ideal for anyone desiring a less vigorous class including active seniors and those recovering from a health issue.
Level 1:
Ideal for students new to yoga who are in good health and physical condition. Students will build strength and flexibility, and learn correct alignment of foundational poses. |
Level 1 and 2:
Students will continue to build strength, flexibility, mental focus and endurance through a deeper practice of the foundational poses and the introduction of more complex poses. Appropriate for continuing yoga students or students who have completed our Intro to Yoga series. |
Level 2 and 3:
Continuing students with at least one year Iyengar yoga experience wanting to deepen their practice. Slow Flow
Extend the principles of strength, flexibility, and alignment while introducing fluidity to the movements through gentle sun salutations. This class is appropriate for continuing students familiar with basic alignment principles and are developing an awareness of body and breath.
TGIF Yoga:
Say goodbye tot he work week and hello to the weekend with this all-levels class.

General Class Participation Information
|
Do not eat for at least one hour before class. |
Arrive 5-10 minutes before start of class for your own relaxation and in courtesy to your fellow
students. |
Wear clothing that is non-binding at the waist and be prepared to work in bare feet. |
Remove shoes upon entering studio. |
Advise instructor of any injuries or special physical considerations before class begins. |
Turn off all cell phones and pagers before entering. |
No perfumes or colognes, as they can be distracting, and because others may be sensitive or allergic. |
The studio is located on the NW corner of Bullard/Palm, in the Opus I Shopping Center. Enter
the Main Studio through the double doors. Classes held in Studio II are accessed through the
single door to the east of the Main Studio doors. |
Gift certificates are available in any denomination. |
All yoga props are provided in classes. Students are encouraged to bring their own mats for health
and hygiene purposes. Mats, props, yoga clothing and other items are available to purchase at the
studio. |
