This series of classes introduces basic yoga poses sequentially to those with little to no yoga experience. It is also appropriate for those new to Iyengar yoga, a style of hatha yoga that focuses on the standing poses in the beginning to build strength, flexibility, body awareness, coordination and concentration; and which offers a dynamic and active approach that improves the ability to focus the mind and increase the ability to relax. The fee includes practice handouts for each session, a 10% discount on yoga supplies during series and one free post-series class. Expect to comfortably continue with an ongoing class at Fig Garden Yoga upon completion. Students who prefer or require a gentler class can begin anytime in Gentle Yoga or Level 1 class.

Tarot cards can be used in many ways. Carl Jung was the first psychologist to attach importance to tarot symbolism. Lesley Kellas Payne is a long-time Tarot card reader who focuses on the psychological and energetic aspects revealed by the cards. Instead of “fortune-telling,” Lesley explains the symbolisms and helps the client understand the themes and trends that will be unfolding over the coming months.
Lesley Kellas Payne is a professional editor and has been reading Tarot cards and astrological charts for many years. Lesley sees the Tarot as a unique and valuable tool for exploring what is "up" for a given individual at a given time or times, a pictorial window into the world of growth and life experience.

Yoga encompasses more than the physical postures, breathing exercises and meditation. It includes a philosophical component that offers non-religious and non-denominational guidelines for everyday living. Similar to Buddhist philosophy (Buddha having been a yogi before he became Buddha), yoga philosophy identifies the roadblocks to happiness and the pathway to self-realization.
-
Students desiring to develop an understanding of yoga beyond its physical component
-
Therapists interested in understanding human behavior from another perspective
-
Anyone who would like to experience more happiness and less suffering in their lives
